Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. – Jer 29:7

This is one of the handouts I printed out and passed around on friday night. These three scriptures should open your eyes to the vast potential… exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or imagine!

—–

Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment. – Matthew 15:28 (AMP)

Then to the centurion Jesus said, Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed. And the servant boy was restored to health at that very moment. – Matthew 8:13 (AMP)

Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance [on the power invested in Me] be it done to you – Matthew 9:29 (AMP)

About three weeks ago at our Friday night meeting one of our people had this vision. She said a right of fire was spreading amongst us and then out from us and God would bring more people to us.

I feel the Holy Spirit just said to me that the black background probably means “apathy”. And the white/blue part of the circle is the open part of the gircle where more people can join in.

Make it so Lord! Yes! Please!

Im a firm believer that in order for Gods words to have the desired effect… in order for them.to be effective and achieve the purpose He sent them for, we must believe His words and keep on believing them as they take root and grow.

His words take root in soft and obedient hearts.

I think its important to know your story, track your journey and keep Gods words alive… this happens by repetition. In the OT God told the parents to tell the stories to their children, but they didnt, and the kids fell away.

Let us keep telling and retelling the key elements of the story, of what God is doing, of where we have come from and where we are going, and who we are and what God is doing amongst us.

We WILL keep believing this promise from God and as a result of our willingness to believe Him, His words WILL come to.pass.

Tonight at church I had several revelations of what God intends to do through the friday Revival Meetings. It was awesome stuff!

It seemed to have the impact of a bomb going off in a desert… where the was no activity there is suddenly furious Heavenly activity in a location… which grows and grows.

I could see the key is to believe… believe He will do what He says… believe what He promises in scripture. I could see the growth… despite all the false starts, despite delays, despite misunderstandings… but He keeps building and we keep coming back on track.

I cant adequately express how very very different what He is doing and saying to the prevailing teaching in all churches that I have attended since coming back from wilderness about 10 or so years ago.

I could see that as these things come to pass, the numbers of people coming to see and experience will require larger and larger venues. Its as if my whole life so far has led to this. This is it.

Its going to be an experience! And its strictly scriptural. Its literally something *out of this world*. And its my priveledge to have faith and facilitate people to taste and see that the Lord is good.

Building community in the manifest Presence of God. What more could anyone ask for?  🙂

God did it again. Yowsers. Last nights revival meeting was so good. I preached… and at the end of the message i thought i had been speaking for just over an hour but it was 2 hours!!!! no one felt it. time just flew.

I thought i was speaking about faith but as i spoke scripture unravelled for ME as well!!  I was speaking about the Kingdom of God! None of us had ever seen this stuff before. The atmosphere in the room changed. It was amazing.

We then began to declare and pray collectively over each of us according to what the bible said. each of us got blessed and got some freedom.

And we had supper together… curry. Yum. We had a wood fire going. I thought we had departed completely from what we were meant to be doing… but in fact God was running the show and we were right where we needed to be.

We stopped at 1:30am and I managed to get into bed at 4am. These meetings are always different and always amazing. Thank You Jesus!!!

In my research on revivals I discovered they all had a few things in common:
* massive amounts of prayer/intercession beforehand
* repentance
* cross-centric

Prayer precedes all revivals. For example the Moravian 100 year continous  prayer in the 1700s…

August of 1727 is seen as the Moravian Pentecost. Zinzendorf said August 13 was “a day of the outpourings of the Holy Spirit upon the congregation; it was its Pentecost.” Within two weeks of the outpouring, twenty-four men and twenty-four women covenanted to pray “hourly intercessions,” thus praying every hour around the clock. They were committed to see that, “The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out” (Lev. 6:13). The numbers committed to this endeavor soon increased to around seventy from the community. This prayer meeting would go non-stop for more than one hundred years and is seen by many as the spiritual power behind the impact the Moravians had on the world.

and more recently in South Korea…

In 1973, David Yonggi Cho, Pastor of the Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, established Prayer Mountain with night-and-day prayer. Prayer Mountain was soon attracting over a million visitors per year, as people would spend retreats in the prayer cells provided on the mountain. Cho had a commitment to continuous prayer, to faith and to establishing small discipleship cells in his church. Perhaps as a result, Cho’s church rapidly expanded to become the largest church congregation on the globe, with membership now over 780,000.

Prayer/intercession is our response to what is on Gods heart. Intercession is faith… its believing that God can, will and is intervening in our world.

This revival will be no different… if you want to host a Revival Meeting in your home, start praying before you begin to host the first one. The prayer should be cross-centric and involve repentance. Do this before He says to open your doors to people.

You dont need to be sinless… Jesus Christ came for those who KNOW they are sick. All you need is to want to be well… and to give others a chance to make the journey with you in community.

In the 15 months before our first meeting I sat alone in the lounge – where the meetings now are – and watched The Passion of Christ more than 100 times, sometime twice on the same night. I didnt watch it for entertainment, I was repenting… and receiving… by declaring scriptures that relate to that momentous event 2000 years ago, when Jesus Christ made all things new.

In fact… my investment of prayer goes further  back… 4 years ago… when I got back to CT from overseas, God called me to spend a year in prayer, which I did. My family called me extreme, my brother offered to pay for psychiatric testing… but I persisted.

I know my tiny investment is just one part of much greater investments made by others. Many other people have also persisted in prayer.

In fact… the sign of an impending revival is the mushrooming of prayer rooms… and in Cape Town we have 27 of them… last I heard.

In fact… my prayer underpinning this revival goes further back than that. In 2007 God had me intercede over more than 1200 spiritual strongholds worldwide. You can read more about that and other intercessions in my main blog.

Wait. The foundation goes further back! There is a 24 hour prayer room here in this city that has kept the “flame on the altar” alive for over 12 years already. Now THAT is an investment of faith!

And its not just in this city, its worldwide. Take a look…

14 years of continous prayer at IHOP in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

On September 19, 1999, the International House of Prayer of Kansas City, Missouri, started a worship-based prayer meeting that has continued for twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week ever since. With a similar vision to Zinzendorf, that the fire on the altar should never go out, there has never been a time when worship and prayer has not ascended to heaven since that date.

Faith is the key.

What is worship? Its faith. What is prayer? Faith! What is obedience and trust? Faith!

Its is fundamental to understand that we receive by believing. And it is Gods words that are alive and sharp and powerful. He holds this world together by the power of His word(s). Scripture is our sword… and its in our mouth. His word(s) do not return to Him without having achieved the purpose for which He sent them.

Therefore it makes sense that I have a personal list of scriptures that I speak over aspects of my life. And it makes sense to sjare some of those with the people who come to intercede for Revival.

Here they are… just the ones that relate to revival…

It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” (PS 116:10) with that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak
– 2 Cor 4:13

Once agsin I came into the meeting with my tyranny of time guide – see below – and once again things happen more or less in line but the times were waaaay out. Im too goal oriented and God is FAR more interested in what is happening BETWEEN PEOPLE than keeping to any schedule.

Let me say again, my understanding of this guide is changing, its most useful when it is used to

1. remind me of what the Holy Spirit said to do… for example open the meeting with an audio of 25 mins of prophetic words over Cape Town… and break it into 5 min chunks so we can talk about what is standing out to us individually
2. remind all who want to read or who listen what we are about, what our values are, what we expect to happen… keeping the main thing the main thing… not getting distracted by new ideas and fads
3. to record and keep alive any prophetic words or visions that God gives us… to keep believing them in order to receive them.

So my thinking is shifting… the guideline is not about time, its about keeping a “shape” and keeping identity and keeping the main thing the main thing.

Once again we went waaaaaay over time… 2am this time. And whereas last week 3 people were almost asleep, this week no one was was even sitting down when we ended!  🙂

Last week they dozed during worship. This week the worship music was background and we prayed at the same time. Then one of us felt led to do foot washing. We prayed for certain people. Lots of words of encouragement.

I dont mean to trivialise this… but I can see how servant leadership really works so well to lift other people up.

We are doing VERY LITTLE intercession. And we have not yet done any repentance.

But we are gaining identity and forming strong  horizontal connections. God is speaking through people and saying that we need to be praying during the week for one another so thst we dont start on friday from a zero base.

We had two financial miracles during this week… we prayed for those two people last week. We also had our first spontaneous healing of a hamstring, a lady had severe pain and she forgot her painkillers… and was healed as she sat there.

When I showed a clip of Jesus Christs resurrection and the revival of Pentecost, thst same lady was WOWed when she saw the holes in His hands. She had revelation and the story became real for her in that moment. Its anazing to watch people grow!

At times Gods Presence was really there in a big way, simply in response to our faith.

David Wagners prophetic words about Cape Town totally blew peoples hair back. Its our destiny to bring these words to fulfillment in this city.

The video clip about the Two Moravian Missionaries seemed to have a VERY powerful impact. The way they totally sold out.

I try to let God choose the clips. I edit and chop the good bits out as I feel led.

Each week I ask people what they enjoyed the most. Being male I loved the healing and visions and prayer… but interestingly… one of the new ladies said the thing which MOST stood out for her was the sharing and the community, another new lady said she doesnt usually talk but she felt safe and she could talk and share… this tells me we are loving one another!

I keep emphasizing to the group that IF we love His people THEN He will send more of His people. Thats the deal. We must love one another. And keep the main thing the main thing… God… Jesus Christ… the Holy Spirit… God our Father.

Eating together is very social. I make a soup… very thick… a slow cooker, cabbage, pumpkin, bacon, carrots, potatoes… let it slow cook for a day. Serve with rolls. Have lots of cooldrink.. we went through 6L for 7 people. But we were there from 7pm to 2am… 7 hours.

We had 7 people. I had a feeling we would not have growth this week, but I have a feeling we will grow next week. I feel the people were hand picked by God.

It is SO WONDERFUL to watch people blossom… to see empty people become filled not just with God through prayer, but filled with hope because people are sharing and people are listening when they share. Its so important to value people. To hear their story. To recognise them. To wait for them. To be respectful.

But also to set boundaries. Public prayer cant go on and on and on leaving everyone else to wait and wait. Thats inconsiderate.

The victory of my tyranny of time is almost complete. I see that what is happening between people is very important. And not just between people… people are bringing each other to God… just like those friends lowered the man through the roof to Jesus Christ. Do you know what?? I just got that. I get it now!  🙂

I was honest with people and told them that I had a tough week and I really needed their prayers.

Revival Meeting
31 May 2013, Friday
Evening guide
7:00 Open with David Wagner 16th Feb prophecy for Cape Town “God is making you a Holy Habitation region” + chat about it – God said to open with this
7:30 Opening dedication prayer by me + thank Dave for having us + what we are about

Visitation on 21st May, Tuesday
*  We are here to bring revival… to change our lives and our city. We do this through our focus on prayer (intercession) and not by focussing on revival. Revival is a result of our prayers.
*  Everyone to strengthen one another, in particular the newest ones, build them up, horizontal connections between us. stand firm together… Dave and I needed your prayers this last week
*  To gather around and welcome new people and to actively explain our strategies to them. New people must not change our course by bringing new ideas. God has set our course: intercession to break through.
*  Our meetings start with the same explanation each week. Who we are. Why we are here. What God has in store. Its repetitive but its necessary to manage growth.
*  The bible says for everyone to bring something. (Not necessarily food or cooldrink.) Prophetic words or encouragement or sharing is welcome.
*  If we all take care of His people, horizontal connections, He will send more people.

Prophetic words about us
*  Juanitas vision: A circle of fire (the Holy Spirit) going out from here… we must believe in order to receive

8:00 supper + intros from everyone… 2 minutes each maximum pls… the purpose of this is to make newcomers feel welcome… We prayed for some ppl last week… has anyone experienced some results of the prayer?
8:30 Short movies + chat + individual prayer time + corporate repentance + time of worship, 53 mins of music
